Cheap Domain Names
Cheap domain names are everywhere, but watch out for the fine print. Many domain name registrars offer "first
year specials" where you can buy a domain name for something like $1 - but that's only for the first year. What is
the price after that?
If you find a super low price, see if you can register the domain for multiple years, thereby locking in the
special cheap rate. If you want to buy multiple domain names, check to see if there is bulk rate pricing, which can
also save you money.
Two places that I recommend getting a domain name from are www.GoDaddy.com and www.1and1.com . I have used them both for years. Both companies have been
selling domain names for a long time. They are reputable and easy to use, and they offer consistently
low prices.
GoDaddy includes a long list of FREE extras with every domain like your own email, hosting and blog. 1and1.com
comes with a free 5-page website starter package and free email account
They often run special sales, but after the sale prices are over - you aren't stuck with high prices. Register
multiple domain names - and you can receive discounted bulk pricing.
Free Domain Names:
The way to get free domain name is to sign up with a web hosting company where a domain name is included with
the package for free. You don't have to pay more for hosting to get a free domain name. For example, www.HostGator.com has hosting for under
$4.00 a month - and you get a free domain name too. www.Homestead.com gives you a free domain name with hosting at just $4.99 a
month. www.Servage.net offers website hosting for
under $6.50 a month with a free domain name. www.Yola.com provides hosting at under $8.50 a month with free domain
name included.
If you are getting free hosting service, your best options are to go with GoDaddy.com or 1and1.com. If your
website is for business, and it is not generating at least $10 a year to pay for the cost of a domain name - why
build a website at all?
